TRAINING COMPLEX FOR
Мi-17 HELICOPTER
Who thinks that making investments into safety is too expensive, he seems have never calculated how much the flight incident costs…
High requirements for the quality of helicopter flight crew training were always demanded.
But in spite of preventive measures carried out in military and civil aviation units there are a lot of incidents happen during helicopter flights. The unfavourable situation with flight safety still remains.
Most of air crashes and serious incidents are caused by faults in pilot technique, flight rules and engineering discipline violation by members of the flight crew. The quality of their professional training is very low.
The frequency of air crashes caused by identical reasons indicates the inefficiency of the preventive measures.
To enhance helicopter flights safety and improve professional training of the flight crews, it is reasonable:
to use the flight simulators of new generation, which makes possible to perfect flight skills in tasks with different levels of complexity and in abnormal and emergency conditions during the flight;
to equip classrooms with technology training aids.
to exclude the flight crew refresher and recurrent training for Mi-17 helicopter without training in the flight simulator.

TRAINING COMPLEX SPECIFICATION
The Science and Production Association “AVIA” (Kremenchuk, Ukraine) offers training complex for helicopter crew training. The training complexes satisfy all the present day requirements for crew training for helicopter Mi-17 and its modifications
The complex provides following training:
multilevel crew training including initial flight training;
development and support of flight skills at equipment operation in nominal conditions according
to VFR and IFR;
development of skills in helicopter systems operation, crew members cooperation;
navigation tasks solving;
crew actions at equipment fail in abnormal and emergency conditions;
visual orientation;
human factor effect on accuracy and effectiveness of actions and procedures performed;
conversion training from other helicopter (aircraft)type;
recurrent quarterly training;
seasonal training;
refresher training;
Pilot’s License revalidation.
The training complex consists of:
multipurpose classroom with interactive computer program complex for training in Mi-17 helicopter operating rules and testing the knowledge;
set of helicopter systems trainers covering the main helicopter systems;
flight and navigation procedures trainer;
flight simulator.
MULTIPURPOSE CLASSROOM
The multipurpose classroom consists of:
interactive computer program complex for training in Mi-17 helicopter operating rules and
testing the knowledge;
computer system of control testing.
The interactive computer program complex is developed in Russian and English. The trainee selects the language without assistance.
The interactive computer program complex gives to the trainees the opportunity to get and improve required knowledge for short period.
STUDY mode
Study program consists of some independent subjects. Each subject is equipped with high-quality colored pictures, diagrams with animated elements and texts.
The section of knowledge self-control covers all subjects of the study program. The understandable control questions help to test the level of the trainee’s knowledge.
EXAMINATION mode
The program of knowledge control contains the control questions to be right answered within control time. According to JAR-FCL2 (H), JAR-OPS 3 (H) Subpart N 3.945 the minimum right answers should be 75%.
The system allows keeping the protocol of the examination. The examination data (date and time, examinee’s name, number of questions asked, number of right answers, list of questions with wrong answers) is saved and available for print.

HELICOPTER FUNCTIONAL SYSTEMS TRAINERS
